After the great hype sparked by the world's first blockchain stamps, it was only a matter of time before the second version would follow. While the release was announced several weeks ago and investors in advance had the chance to get the begeherten stamps, starts on June 25, 2020, the official sale.
Crypto Stamps 2.0: Multiple motifs in different colors
On June 25, 2020 the time has finally come: The much-awaited Austrian Post's Crypto Stamps 2.0 are finally officially available. After a short Presale phase, in which the popular digital stamps were quickly sold out, the crypto stamps are also available in the branches and via the online shop.
Speculators will be the first to hit the new stamps. Because the hype surrounding the Crypto Stamps 1.0 brought many investors high profits. Stamps bought for € 6,90 EUR were traded on online platforms, depending on the degree of rarity, for hundreds and sometimes even thousands of euros. How rare the stamps are depends on the color. Because the different motifs were delivered in several colors in different editions.
In the Crypto Stamps 2.0 there will not only be different colors, but also several motifs. A stamp costs € 7,00. In addition to the famous Doge, there are the motifs honey badger, llama and panda:
As with the Crypto Stamps 1.0, the different colors are printed in different editions. If you are lucky, you will get one of the rare red blockchain stamps. Because of these there will only be 600 pieces per motif throughout Austria:
Also new: in the pre-sale, the digital stamps could be paid for and ordered directly via the Post website using a browser plug-in with the cryptocurrency Ethereum (ETH). These stamps are displayed as a digital image on the Ethereum blockchain.
Lamborghini digital stamps
Not only Austrian Post now offers digital stamps, but also Bitstamp. In the specially developed app, users can purchase various digital stamps, from works of art to Lamborghini stamps.
A little over a month ago, the Italian carmaker announced that it would offer the Huracán EVO RWD Spyder model as a digital stamp via Bitstamp. Each stamp is an individual object, with its own history and uniqueness. This uniqueness is guaranteed by the use of blockchain technology and also protects against counterfeiting:
